W L's earthly journey began on March 13, 1952. He was born to the late Jodie Ogburn and the late Cezar Drake Ogburn in Adams, Tennessee. On Sunday, May 19, 2024, W L's earthly journey ended peacefully.
He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Port Royal Community. W.L. was educated in Clarksville Montgomery County School System and was a graduate of Clarksville High School. He enjoyed working on the Ogburn Family Farms, State Stove, Brown Building and PFC.
He loved spending time with and entertaining his family and friends at the farm. He also enjoyed fishing, eating and fast riding/driving around town. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiling face.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Willie, James, Robert, Herbert, Sory, Gary, and Joseph Ogburn.
He leaves precious memories to be cherished by: his daughter, Rosetta Michelle Trotter; grandchildren, Sheldon (Brittany) Trotter, Dolliea Maxey and Eric Brody; nine great-grandchildren; his devoted companion of twenty-seven years, Cynthia Dowlen; 4 sisters, Lucille Darden, Ruth E. Fort, Roberta Allen and Josephine Waller; 7 brothers, Eugene (Linda) Ogburn, Donald Ray (Ruby) Ogburn, Raymond Ogburn, John Ogburn, JL Ogburn, Harold Ogburn and Roy Dean Ogburn; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing, visitation were Friday, May 24, 2024 with funeral Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Mt Zion Baptist Church, Port Royal, Adams, Tennessee. Interment at Benevolent #210 Lodge Cemetery.
