Shelvie Jean Hutcherson was born in Hickman County, Tennessee on December 17, 1937 to Everett Gossett & Susie England (Gossett) Brown. She passed away on April 2, 2021, at the age of 83.
Jean worked most of her life in serving others either as a waitress or caretaker of the disabled at the Impact Center. She thoroughly enjoyed overseeing an after school program sponsored by her church where she would purchase & deliver food items to East Elementary School for children in need. Most importantly, she loved talking about her Lord & Savior telling people what He had done for her & He would do the same for them. She was a long time member of New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church in Primm Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mahlon Hutcherson, brothers, Donnie & David Brown, son, Marc Burridge, daughter-in-law, Debbie Hutcherson, son-in-law, Darcy Lynn Campbell, grandsons, Christopher Hutcherson & Alec Simmons, great grandson, Eli Campbell and nephew Ronnie Gossett.
She is survived by her children, Dale (Sharon) Burridge, Fairview, Maelynn Campbell, Milam Branch, Phillip (Lisa) Hutcherson, Centerville, Adam Hutcherson, Nunnelly, sister Janey Gilbert and brothers, Gary Gossett & Dorris Brown. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, as well as, two little boys that she loved as though they were her own grandchildren, Bryton & Jamison along with a host of family and friends.
Services were held at McDonald Funeral Home with visitation 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday April 5, with the service following at 1 p.m. Brother JJ King officiated the service. Pallbearers were members of her family. Burial at Memory Gardens in Centerville.
