Mrs. JoAnn Gossett, age 74 of Fairview, TN, passed away surrounded by loved ones on April 3, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

JoAnn was born in Springfield, IL on December 5, 1946 to Jerome Francis Reilly and Lillian Agnes Otto Reilly. JoAnn had a lifelong passion for education and after teaching for twenty years, she returned to school to earn a Master's degree in Education. During her thirty-five-year career, she specialized in teaching children with learning disabilities and special education needs.

JoAnn is remembered for having a lively sense of humor and her warm-hearted, kind nature. JoAnn loved scrapbooking, traveling, and most importantly her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of forty-nine years, Mickey L. Gossett; mother Lillian Reilly; daughters, Kim (David) Perego, Austin, TX, and Karen (Steve) Doerr, Fairview, TN; sister, Rita Ham, Decatur, IL; brother, John (Jane) Reilly, Riverside, IL; grandchildren, Lauryn and Dax Perego, also Reilly and Taylor Doerr; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her father, sister Patricia Reilly, and brother-in-law Rick Ham.

Visitation with the family will begin on Wednesday, April 7, at 1:30 pm with funeral services to begin at 2:30 pm in the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society http://www.cancer.org/
